Persian Miniature Painting

In this activity, we will learn about miniature paintings, a style of art that grew in popularity in Persia in the 1200’s.

Remember that this style of art became popular long after the fall of the Ancient Persian Empire and that these paintings were kept in books rather than hung on walls! These books were luxurious and expensive and mostly enjoyed by the rich and royal class.

So grab your pencils and paper, and get ready to create an amazing mini painting!

Supplies Needed:

  • A piece of paper

  • Colorful and patterned scraps of paper

  • A pencil

  • Scissors

  • A ruler

  • A glue stick
