Goose Grease House for the Arts Mission Statement

While in our studio teaching art + history, we are also focused on growing smart and respectful students -- young leaders that can hold intelligent conversations and be a beacon in their community, respecting all persons and cultures/religions. As we usually state, as students enter the Goose Grease studio, the level of consciousness should only be raised. Our Latin motto “Audi Vocem Veri” means: “Listen to the voice of truth.”

What does a typical after-school class look like?

The structure varies with the different age groups, but overall, kids should expect a note-taking session, guided drawing lessons, intellectual content and conversation, and project-based learning.

Will my child really learn history while making art?

Yes! Our primary goal is to design a curriculum where crafts and educational content go hand in hand to facilitate the student’s remembrance of crucial topics in history.

How do you teach history?

We do this through conversation, creative note-taking, and making associations between past and present lessons. Our project-based art making is designed to help kids remember what they are learning about.

How many semesters should we sign up for?

If you want to see true progress, commit to sending your child to GG at least one day a week for all of their elementary years. If you do this, we guarantee you will see the difference.

Is Goose Grease a good fit for my child?

In terms of skill level, kids should be able to rip masking tape on their own. This is usually a good marker for us, indicating that their fine motor skills are ready for our level of project making. In terms of behavior, kids should be able to sit at a table working on a project for 45 minutes to an hour. Before committing, please read this “About Us” page, as well as our “Policies” page.
