The Yoruba

In this activity, we will learn about the Yoruba, a cultural group from West Africa and recreate one of their traditional costumes known as an Egungun.

Remember that in Yoruban culture, clothing was used as a symbol of status as well and the more fabric you wore, the more powerful you were. The Egungun is made from many layers of colorful and expensive fabric to display the power of a family and their ancestors!

So grab your paints and brushes, and get ready to make a stunning Egungun!
