The Empire of the Aztecs
History Lesson:
Throughout this workshop, students learned about Aztec life, warriors, religious practices, and the ultimate fall of the empire. As they worked, they listened to the real accounts of Spaniard conquistador, Hernán Cortés, who had first contact with the indigenous people of central America. They also had the opportunity to paint with real pigments from nature, including the valuable cochineal bug!
