The Titanic

History Lesson:

Over Spring break, students learned about the Titanic! The lessons started with the building of the ship, then progressed to the different rooms, classes, and roles on the ship. They also discussed the failures that led to the sinking of the ship, the invention of the telegraph, and the heroes of the disaster. Throughout the week, they built a diorama of the Titanic that had rooms showcasing the 1st class dining room, 1st and 3rd class bedrooms, boiler room, and Marconi room (aka where the telegraph was kept). At the end of the week, students learned how to type out their name on a telegraph using Morse code!
